Maverick built Iskotêw Training from the ground up, a program training Indigenous youth for careers in firefighting and emergency services, rooted in cultural knowledge and mental wellness.
Running it taught him a hard lesson: the work only goes as far as the funding behind it. Watching communities fight for every dollar of support, he saw the need for a dedicated partner who could carry that weight.
